Warm Tips: All kinds of coffee cooking utensils need different grinding thickness. It is recommended that you understand your equipment and choose the appropriate scale. The number above the scale adjustment represents the thickness of the coffee powder No. 0 is the finest coffee powder, and No. 8 is the thickest coffee powder. Adjust the thickness of the coffee powder according to your preference or the used coffee appliance to the desired thickness number. This does the trick for grinding beans but it is not exactly precision. For the price it's a very good deal. But you'll want to grind twice because the grinder is inconsistent. I use a technivorm brewer and find setting 2 plus grinding twice is perfect. Has held up to daily use for 6+ months. would buy again .Most important: it works as advertised, I recommend this burr coffee grinder.Less important: I am a fan of the design in that there are no unnecessary electronics or fallible keypads/touchscreens. I like the no-frills design and it's simple enough that it could be taken apart and reassembled if required. Not that I anticipate having to do so any time soon.I rated this 4/5 stars only because the product had a very strong chemical smell to it when I opened it, think auto parts store. I'm not normally bothered by these things, but I felt it was best to leave all the parts out on the porch for a couple of hours before bringing it back in. Fortunately, the scent dissipated, and I am happy with the product.Showed up on time and as advertised. 5-stars for that part. It's a little smaller than I expected, but not a deal breaker - actually a plus if you have limited counter space. The variety on the grind did what I expected, 1= very fine, 10 = course. For "pre-ground drip coffee" equivalent, use #2 setting. Static is a thing, and is worse as the grind gets finer, but that's going to happen with anything that is burr ground. The fit and finish is pretty good - better than I expected, but nearly the entire thing is plastic so I can't expect it to last very long. The nature of a burr grinder puts a lot of stress on the parts that hold it together, and in this case it is all plastic. The fact that it came with not one, but three replacement fuses has me either overflowing with gratitude, or suspicious about the quality of the motor windings. All that is somewhat conjecture because I've only used it for a day now. Here's why I didn't give it 5 stars: they put the little stupid on/off switch ON THE BACK, UNDER THE MOTOR!! Like where you'd hide a spare house key, or a dirty magazine, where no one would ever find it even if they were looking for it. Plan on leaving a lot of room on either side of it to reach around and fumble around trying to find the switch. This is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Maybe I'll get used to it after a while - if it lasts that long. This grinder works great and has a low footprint on the counter. It grinds very quickly and with very low noise to wake the wife in the morning. The only flaw is that the switch is on the back of the unit. One other thing is the static cling is bad and would be nice if the collection cup could be made of a non-cling material. All in all I would recommend this to anyone who grinds their own beans or herbs.Machine grinds them up. Size seems consistent. No dust and no chunks. Fairly quiet. Alreafy received comments on looks sitting on counter. can to catch ground coffee works well, no mess. The bad. Terrible odor came from box when first opened. Hand washed and then ran through the dishwasher to remove this. I cannot tell how much I have ground. Watching hopper level drop to gauge. Sizing is different previous burr grinder. Started set on a five. At four, going to 31/2. Used medium before. Set this below fine. Time will tell.Easy to use and does a fine grind for my dirty chai tealove it. works great. i do wish that the catch basin for the grounds was a better plastic. but really not a problem as i will look for a catch cup or basin that is more industrial the one provided keeps the grounds from flowing all over the place. diggin it coffee is better due to this. i cannot abide the grinders that just have the blade in the machine. you can run those style machines for five minutes and still have chunks and half beans in the ground.for the money this machine cannot be beat and it is decorative at the same time....very cool appearance, i am an architect so many times i buy based on visual appearance. this has an industrial look and it works great. This is a , bigger than expected, grinder that is easy to use , not much noise , well made , solid . This one is metal , with a little weight . This grinds , not chop , or cut up . You can grind the coffee into dust , where it's hard to handle , floats or gets everywhere. I had a manual hand grinder that works great, but surgery on my shoulder makes it difficult. I've had this grinder a short time but , I love it . You need to grind coffee with burrs , not blades . Machine looks good also . Thanks .
