Good roaster, however, 1st, there isn't much instructions on putting it together, 2nd, all it say is on the booklet is how to clean and 3rd, any suggestion on how to roast coffee properly! We love this little coffee bean / nut roaster. Haven't done any coffee beans but it works great as a nut roaster. All kinds but not together. Nuts roast a different time and temperature depending on the nut. Getting used to these Centigrade or Celsius temperature takes a few minutes but after while you'll know what temp to set it on. I would definitely buy it again! It is kind of expensive so if you can't afford something like this go to your local thrift store and buy an old school bottom sifter popcorn popper that may do the trick for you too!Heats up fast and cooks consistently. Great product!!!!August 30th 2021 made the first roast. Used 4 times now it's stopped.I got this as a requested gift. I’ve been roasting coffee at home with a whirly pop on the stove for a number of years with good results. I thought that this machine would provide the same performance, except having to turn the beans manually, etc. I did some research on timing, since there are no clear instructions anywhere and the recommendations vary greatly.Pros:- Seems to be well made and the heating works quicky and efficiently.- The glass makes it easy to see the roast progress.Cons:- All the heat is on the surface, not inside the air cavity. This essentially sears the beans instead of roasting them thoroughly. I experimented covering some of the vent holes with aluminum foil in order to build up more heat inside, but I can barely get the air temp inside to 350 (measured with thermometer through the air vent) after 15 mins of preheating.- My first try almost burned the beans (23 mins to first crack), my second roast reached first crack at 13 mins (after a long preheat to build up heat), but the resulting roast just wasn’t right. It tasted grassy and under roasted.- The roast is uneven. I tried tilting the unit back and forth every 30 secs. which helped.I will keep experimenting and post an update here as needed. This seemed like a great concept and I had high expectations, but disappointed so far.
